Back to the Things that Actually Matter

Thursday night's review of the latest episode of The Office! I'm going to try not to spoil anything here in case you haven't seen it, but if you are really sensitive then watch it before you read this. That was my disclaimer so don't leave me any comments like "thanks for ruining it for me" now.

This was the best episode of the season so far. The reason: no Holly. Like I said, I actually like Holly and am glad she is in the show now, but she was like a great song on the radio that is overplayed -- I got sick of her. Thankfully there was not so much as a reference to her in this episode. This time, Michael is back to playing stupid tricks on everybody else that blow up in his own face (I cracked up when he hung up the phone on his own mom!), Jim pisses off Andy by drinking out of his cup and torments Dwight during a training-session roleplay phone call, and of course the painfully awkward love triangle between Dwight, Andy, and Angela gets a little more painfully awkward. Also the Jim and Pam drama deepens a little bit. It will be interesting to see what direction they take it from here, but I just hope that they don't drag it out too much longer. Jim's overall mood is really melancholy and I think it takes more away from the show than it adds. The one thing I hope more than anything is that they are not making a slow transition into eliminating one of the show's key characters: Pam. I'd be really sad if she quit the show.

We bought a crib today. Its wierd seeing baby stuff pop up all over the apartment. We don't have much stuff yet, but magazines and books and pictures and stuff is starting to appear, Tamara's tummy is starting to stick out, and this baby thing is sinking in more and more. We'll find out what gender it is (and I can finally stop referring to it as "it") in December. I am looking forward to that so we can decide on a name and pick out some colors and things. I actually have enjoyed going into baby stores like Pottery Barn Kids with Tamara. They have rooms set up that I would have dreamed of having when I was a kid -- a bunk bed with the bottom bunk covered with Spider Man sheets and the top covered with Batman sheets! Awesome! I'd kill for something like that right now, but Tamara says I'm too old. Whatever.

Hmmm, a married couple having a bunk bed. I'd find that odd too. Unless you had your own 'Man Room' and that's what you put in it. You know, for when you get in trouble? It's better than the couch.

I'll have to get back to you on the Office, I forgot to watch it tonight. Thankfully, there is the DVR. Long live the man that invented this wonderful device. Give him the Nobel; he's done way more than Al Gore.

I totally agree with you on the Office stuff. I loved it last night... SO funny. My favorite part had to be the roleplay call. That was typical Jim, Dwight, and Michael. Hillarious! But yeah... they can't take Pam away from the show... I already don't like that she is in New York... too removed from the rest of the show. But anyway, it was nice to get a good episode this season.

And if you ask super nice, maybe tamara will let you put batman sheets on your current bed. You don't have to get a bunk bed for that. :)
