Hello again everyone! I finally got AT&T to send us a modem that works! We only lost a full week of connection to the outside world due to their incompetence! They said we would have a phone line activated and internet access by October 13th. October 13th came, a modem arrived via UPS, and a blinking red light showed that the modem was functional, but was not accessing the internet -- the customer support person said we just needed to wait for a solid red light. Well, October 13th ended, no solid red light, and no dial tone on the phone... The next morning, still no dial tone, and that blinking red light was no longer blinking -- it wasn't doing anything at all. Customer support said it was broken. They sent us a new one, but they gave UPS the wrong delivery address. Finally, Tamara called UPS and drove 15 miles this morning to San Rafael to pick up our modem from the UPS center. Sound like a mess? We'll see how long before we switch back to Comcast...
ANYWAY. The world is in turmoil. Barack Obama sucked in the most recent debate, because McCain wouldn't quit beating him into the ground on all of his lies and his shoving things that matter under the table. McCain clearly won the debate (stating otherwise is simply denial because you like Barack Obama -- he was very defensive), but the REAL STAR of the most recent debate was Joe the Plumber. If John McCain wins the election, he can thank Joe. If you don't know who Joe the Plumber is, google him. What an awesome story. He puts a face on the millions of Americans who would be negatively affected by liberal rhetoric. He represents people like me, who work for our money and set financial goals and try to make something of ourselves. Liberals want to decide what happens with his money. That is not capitalism. That is not what America was founded on. That is socialism, and that is why literally every European nation has extremely high unemployment rates and such mediocre economies. So the democrats want to control everyone's money and where it goes. That is not just wrong, it is evil, and reminds me of a certain premortal being who wanted to control everyone and what we would do in this life for "the sake of everyone". As I remember, that plan was rejected in favor of our freedom to choose for ourselves. Am I comparing Obama to Lucifer? You betcha. Does that make McCain Jehovah? Absolutely not. But I would certainly choose a fence-sitter over Lucifer. Sad, its true, but my cause is to stop Obama, not to elect McCain, unless that is what it takes to stop Obama, and right now that is our only chance I think.
I'm not going to get into BYU very much. They lost. National Title hopes, however stretched they might have been, are gone, as are any hopes of playing in a BCS Bowl game of any kind. If BYU can win out, they might be considered to play in the Las Vegas Bowl for the 4th year in a row against the 4th best PAC-10 team, which right now is Oregon State. That doesn't even sound interesting enough for me to tune in to watch, so why am I even blogging about it? It was pretty disappointing, that's all. I'm done. No more BYU football till next year.
So we're loving it here in Sausalito. I am so glad we moved! Before, we were living in a tiny 1-bedroom apartment that barely was big enough for us to fit our bed into, surrounded by three freeways and an airport, a huge mall across the street, and a massive construction zone right outside our bedroom window. Now, we've got an extra bedroom, a roomy living room, tons of storage, and we wake up to birds singing outside our bedroom window (where's my bb gun when I need it... stupid birds). The best thing is my 1-hour-each-way commute has been reduced to 3 minutes each way. I walk down the hill to my office, and walk back up for my break. That is nice. And for you Tupac fans (I know you're out there!) the neighborhood at the bottom of the hill is where Tupac got into his first fight, and his mom became a crack-whore (he raps about it in his song). Its been cleaned up pretty good since then, and it goes from ghetto to nice real quick.
My dumb dog Sampson (the wiener dog) was annoying me yesterday morning. I was trying to get Bruce (the chihuahua) ready to go outside and he was being very nice and patient, but when Sampson realized what I was doing, he got all excited and started jumping all over me and Bruce making this excited whining noise. It made it impossible for me to get Bruce's harness on, so I had to keep shoving him away, which Sampson took as a game at first, so I had to shove him a little more forcefully a couple of times to make sure he got the message. Finally, when he just wouldn't quit, I grabbed him and flipped him onto his back and pinned him down, and told him to stop really firmly. Then I started to feel something warm hit my face, an overwhelming pungent scent shot up my nose, a hot fumes started filling my mouth. I remembered too late that when Sampson gets startled or scared, he pees. We avoid playing rough with him because he'll have a little "accident". Well, Sampson had a little "accident" all over my freaking face. Sick. I spent the next half hour washing out my mouth and nose -- luckily he missed my eyes. I still feel a little sick... Now, as I type this, he is asleep on my lap. I just can't resist the little pisser.

Why do you have dogs again? :p That's sick! I'm glad you are liking your new apartment.
Oh Ryan, you've been missed. Just to throw in a few tid-bits on TCU, they would have beaten anyone that night; it doesn't help BYU that since January every tackle-dummy was wearing BYU Helmets. That game was the pinnacle of their season, and they delivered. Hard. And yes, BCS is gone but don't worry, other 1 loss or even 2 loss teams will fill up the bowl games. And some of those losses come from unranked teams (USC cough cough).
I hear drinking dog urine is good for your health.
Yeah Joel there is a very good and valid reason why I call the BCS the Bull Crap Series. How is USC ranked in the top 10 when they have a loss to a team that is an annual loser? Mississippi, wasn't it? Same as Florida, who lost to Mississippi State. I really hope Alabama, Texas, and Penn State all win out. You'll have three undefeated BCS teams, and then what're the old Bull Crap Series judges going to do? Vote on who is allowed to play in the national game? Stupid stupid stupid.
HAHAHA! Ryan got peed on, that's the funniest thing I've heard all week. Man, I miss you guys.
