Tamara and I just got back from Lake Tahoe yesterday. On Friday we drove up to Truckee to bike

the Emigrant Trail in the Sierra Nevadas north of Lake Tahoe. Unfortunately Tamara wasn't feeling too well, but she was still tough. While most people who weren't feeling great before their first real mountain bike ride would have sat out, Tamara gave it her best shot, and it was a good one! We rode a couple miles of up-and-down trail before she was ready to call it a day and head back. So we got four miles of great singletrack including a hardcore splashdown into a two-foot deep creek that got me soaked knees down. Tamara took the bridge :).
After the bike ride we headed down to our campsite at D.L.Bliss State Park on the west shore of the lake. We set up our camp as soon as we got there to avoid having to set it up in the dark later on, and then we decided to hike down to the shore about a mile away. It was a lot farther than a mile by the trail we took. My stupid map was very misleading. But we got some pretty pictures of the lake.
Tamara made some great fajitas for dinner while I set up the rest of camp.

After a rough night (noisy bugs and dreams about bear attacks) we got up and had breakfast, and packed up our stuff wishing that we could stay another night. Tamara drove me up to the top of a mountain above the lake and dropped me off with my bike. Then she drove down to the bottom to meet me later. The trail was the world famous Flume Trail, sporting some of the best views of Lake Tahoe that you can possibly get. Enjoy my monologue.
I actually took even more videos, but they were a little more boring. I finally met up with Tamara almost an hour later than planned... Oops, she wasn't too happy about that, but we went to a beach and rented a kayak and that was fun enough to make her happy again.

Looks like you had fun!
Cool Ryan! Looks like a fun trip, but way too much video. I'm sure your kids will love it one day. :)
Wow... lots of videos. :p Fun pictures though! Looks like an exciting trip!
I dunno man, it looked like you were going awfully slow. Has California turned you into a pansy mountain biker? I liked the ten second video the best. Mount that stupid thing to your helmet next time!
Aaaarrg! I miss you guys!!!
