I like to keep up with movie rumors, and one that I found this morning (the link is on www.rottentomatoes.com, I'm too lazy to go find it sorry) was about the possible villains in the next Christopher Nolan directed Batman movie. They haven't officially signed him on to make it yet, but you can bet they will do whatever they can to get him, and I doubt he'd turn them down. Anyway, names keep popping up like Two-Face, Penguin, Catwoman, Mr. Freeze, and some other less known bad guys, but the one that I think has the most potential to actually happen is the Riddler. Watch out, here comes the geek in me!
In the older comics and the animated series, Riddler has been an extremely smart guy who feels insulted that some people think Batman is smarter than he is. So he would do things against the law (rob banks, museums, etc) and get away with it, not because he wanted the money or anything but only to outsmart Batman. Eventually he becomes more and more gruesome in his schemes and takes people hostage, rigs a trap that will kill the person he has kidnapped, and sends Batman clues with a warning that unless Batman can solve the mystery based on the clues by a certain time, the hostage will be killed, and the blood will be on Batman's hands. Batman of course eventually outsmarts the Riddler once and for all, and has him thrown into Arkham Asylum. In more recent incarnations, Riddler has that past of psychotic crime, but is more of a "good" bad guy. He's in prison most of the time, but in return for good behavior perks, he helps the police solve mysteries, and he is good at it. So, an interesting plot for the third movie could go something like this: Give or take away the old Riddler, we don't necessarily need that back story. Batman is wanted by the police now. He's blamed for several murders that Two-Face committed, including some cops. Enter some other random Batman villain, who is committing other murders around Gotham. Edward Nygma, the man who would become the Riddler, is a detective trying to solve the murders. He's too smart to actually believe that Batman committed the murders, but he has some personal problems with Batman and steers the police in that direction anyway. This could create some interesting intrigue with Commissioner Gordon as well. Eventually, Nygma becomes so obsessed with his need to pin Batman that he falls in with whoever the side-villain becomes (Two-Face, Talia al Ghul would be very interesting, Ra's al Ghul's daughter, or Catwoman or whoever) and of course absolute chaos follows.
Ok so I feel I need to go work on my science fair project now. If I had one I would. Instead I'm going to go read the encyclopedia for a few hours.

Hey, you're a nerd! You've got to get batman off the brain, atleast for a few years, ok?? You should read Twilight so that when we go to the movie in December you know what's going on :)
Twilight... Yeah I want to read a book about the most beautiful (drugged up, according to pictures I've seen) vampire in the world.
