After holding out as long as possible, I have finally decided to start a blog. When things like Harry Potter, the TV show Lost, and blogging become wildly popular, I automatically resist joining everyone else wasting their time on silly things that are far below me. Now, several years after everyone else has been doing these great things for a long time, I admit I have read (and loved) every Harry Potter book (didn't really like the last one though...), finally caught up with Lost (season 4 ended very very well), and I have a blog. Other wildly popular things I am currently resisting include Hannah Montana, the TV show Dancing With The Stars, Sex and the City: The Movie, social drinking, and having children. Maybe I should just give in... I'll never know what I'm missing.
Ok, ok, so I'm joking. I hope my Mom isn't freaking out. He moves away from home for a couple months and he's already opened a BLOG what is HAPPENING TO MY SON????? That's what she's thinking.
So I'm thinking about just updating quickly on all that has happened since Tamara and I moved here from Utah. We arrived pretty late at night on April 20th, 2008. The freeways in the Bay Area are nuts, especially with all the 10-mile bridges thrown in there to cross the bay... We moved into our 1 bed 1 bath apartment which costs us about $300 per month more to rent than our 2 bed 2 bath townhome with a back yard and tons of space cost us per month to buy. And that's AFTER my corporate discount. Without the discount this little 650 square foot closet would cost us $2070/month. The job is great though, I love the benefits and the people I work with. We're about 8 miles south of San Francisco, and about 6 miles east of the Pacific Ocean. The beaches here are cold and windy, but they are incredibly beautiful.

See what I mean? Quit looking at my wife like that! ... Ok, so she makes any picture look amazing.
So, we like it here. Who knows how long we will live here... Maybe months, maybe years, I guess that's part of the fun of life. Everything can change at a moment's notice. So I guess we'll see what comes of it. Stay tuned, and if you care, I'll keep you updated.

I LOVE IT! I'm so glad you have a blog! It's such a fun and easy way to stay connected. I love you, Ryan, but I don't think I'll ever get into the habit of calling you up every week... or even once a month! Checking your blog for updates four times a day is much easier. :-) I'm gonna add you to my favorite links list right now!
Holy smokes, it says I posted at 5:36 AM. There's a three hour time difference between you and me! Someday let's plan to live in the same time zone to make things easier on Mom and Dad. Love you!
OK, yes, I am freaking out! But mostly because you are resisiting the idea of children!?!? Come on, Josh needs some buddies to play with, and Amberly & Beau can't be expected to do all the work....
I agree with Amberly's comment. How about Utah Mountain Time?
You guys should all move to California. Amberly, you moved to the wrong coast. West is best.
Dude everything sounds awesome there. Ima little bit jealous.....
Ryan, your writing cracks me up! I'm glad you finally caved and started a blog, and I'm glad I found it.
Happy writing! BTW: LOVE your Harvey Dent banner! CANT WAIT 'til July 18Th!
