Just Saw Hulk, and... (don't worry, no spoilers)

Hulk was actually better than I was expecting it to be. The trailers didn't really give me anything to be excited for, and Edward Norton seemed like a wierd choice to play Bruce Banner. He's always been so scrawny. But we decided to go see it because I had read some good reviews and rumors that the movie would tie into certain other movies that have or will soon come out. Turns out, Edward Norton physically took on the role of Bruce Banner very, very well. He beefed up a LOT for the movie, and had a scruffy enough look to fit the whole thing perfectly. All scenes involving the Hulk were fantastic. I actually got tingles during certain parts where Hulk screams his legendary line "Hulk SMASH!!!!" The first 3/4 of the movie was enjoyable, lots of action and drama, but its the last 20 or 30 minutes that make you tired just watching. Best of all, its not too over-the-top. I mean, it kind of is, being a comic book movie, but it does a great job not getting into the "oh brother" territory when it hangs precariously on the edge of going either way. My ONLY complaint is a big one though. Edward Norton looks great in the film, but he gives Bruce Banner absolutely zero personality. He just seems depressed the whole time. Unfortunately, it does take away a lot of what would make this a great movie, so it has to remain just 'good'. Regardless of the personality-less Bruce Banner, I left the theater giddy as a little boy because of the way they set up for the upcoming movies. You'll have to see it for yourself to find out exactly what happens, but it has really got me thinking and very, very excited about what Marvel has in store for us over the next few years. I feel like a geek to the maximum saying this, but this is another movie-dream-come-true for the little boy in me. Go see it, let me know if you like it, and go see Iron Man too. You'll be glad you did.

How dare you? Edward Norton is awesome! As Bruce Banner, what does he have to be happy about? Of course he's depressed, he's the hulk and people are always trying to kill him. And he can't even get a little excited :)

I know exactly to what you are referring ;) and I have to agree with you, he can't get excited about anything at all, dry as a bone, zero personality, just mopey mopey mopey.

Well the first two paragraphs of your Hulk Critique was great, but your music player got in the way of me reading the third paragraph. I don't know if that's just the mac I'm working on or not.

I soooo plan on seeing the Hulk! And Batman! AAAAhhh! It's been a while since I've been excited about new movies coming out.
